[A] MAN involved in late-night violence at a house in Workington has been handed a suspended jail term.
Jamie Alexander John Bell, 30, was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court today (WED) after admitting a charge of affray. This followed an incident at the address of Shaun Kelly just before midnight on November 24.
Bell went there with an unidentified male. He stood back as that male brandished a hammer and made threats to the occupants.
However, Bell then pushed Mr Kelly, who suffered bruising to his chest and back after falling against a radiator.
Bell, of Salterbeck Drive, Workington, had a 10-month prison sentence suspended for two years, and must complete a four-month night-time curfew and rehabilitation.
He was also banned from contacting Mr Kelly and one other person for five years.
“Your presence reinforced the threats that were being made,” Judge James Adkin told him.
