Vehicles breakdown after Penrith Morrisons fuel mix-up

[A] number of vehicles have broken down after diesel and petrol were put in the wrong storage tanks at Morrisons in Penrith.

Morrisons petrol station at the top of Brunswick Road was closed for 25 minutes as a result of the error, which occurred at approx 2:30pm.

Motorists reported breaking down shortly after filling at the Penrith store.

A Morrisons spokeswoman said: “As a result of a technical fault, a number of cars were filled with the wrong fuel and broke down.

“We have apologised to affected drivers and asked the AA to recover and repair the vehicles at our expense.”
