[P]enrith’s Ladies Development team finally returned to action after a several week break due to the recent poor weather.
They made the best possible taking the lead in only 55 seconds when Becca Alderson dispatched the loose ball as it bounced in the Fleetwood area.
Fleetwood were a very capable team and much of the play was taking place in the midfield area. However it was Penrith who seemed to be able to turn their possession into chances while much of Fleetwood’s play came nothing.
Penrith extended their lead on 16 mins when Isabel Savage’s corner floated to the back post and Livvy Johnston guided the ball into the net.
Penrith made it 3-0 on the half hour mark when Bacca Alderson pounced on a poor clearance from the Fleetwood keeper and she slotted it passed the retreating keeper.
HT 3-0.
Into the 2nd half the midfield battle continued and Penrith loaded this area with Tasha Scott dominant in the anchoring role. Penrith’s defence of Isabel Savage, Bea Jackson, Daisy Savage and Holly Falder remained well organised and were rarely threatened.
Livvy Johnston made the game safe with a 4th goal as she again pounced on a poor keeper clearance and fired the ball past the stranded keeper.
A pleasing result and performance after a long lay off.
