Maryport man charged after West Cumbria police pursuit

[P]OLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was arrested and charged with offences following a police pursuit.

The pursuit occurred at around 11pm on 30 March 2018, with police pursuing a grey Volkswagen Passat estate from Maryport to Silloth, taking in the A596 and B5300.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of the Passat.

A 21-year-old man from Maryport was arrested following the pursuit.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Tyler Wilson, of Bowside Road, Dearham, Maryport, has been charged and remanded for dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without a license and driving without insurance.

“Wilson has also been recalled to prison for breach of his license.”
