[A] MAN has admitted flouting a restraining order by following his ex-wife in a car.
Peter Thomas Drinkwater, 45, faced one charge during a short hearing at Carlisle Crown Court today (TUES).
Appearing over a video link from custody, he pleaded guilty to acting in breach of a restraining order. This charge states that he “indirectly approached/interfered” with his former wife, Deborah Drinkwater, “by following her from Carlisle to Newcastle” in his vehicle. This is said to have occurred on February 26, in breach of a restraining order which had been imposed by a judge last May.
Drinkwater was said to have also admitted separate breaches of the order at a previous court hearing.
Judge Barbara Forrester adjourned the case. Drinkwater, of Bowness Court, Workington, was told he would be sentenced for his offending later this month.
Until then he was remanded in custody by the judge.
