[T]he MP for Copeland is encouraging residents to join her and locally elected members for a community clean up session in Parton.
Following Mrs Harrison’s Saturday Chataway surgery, the Copeland MP will be joined by elected members, local councillors and community leaders for a community litter pick from 1pm – 3pm.
Meeting at Parton Village Hall, Mrs Harrison is encouraging as many residents as possible to get involved.
Mrs Harrison, said: “Litter is something which features highly on people’s list of complaints so I’m really keen to get out there and help. I’m hoping enough people join to make it a case of many hands make light work, it’s also a friendly way to chat to everyone in Parton.”
Saturday Chataway provides residents with the opportunity to raise any concerns or suggestions with their Member of Parliament as well as their locally elected councillors and community leaders.
This month’s session will take place between 10am – 12pm at Parton Village Hall on Saturday 7th April.
Any proceeds raised during the day will be donated to The Parton Friendship Group.
