[A]t around 2:30am today, Monday 9 April three fire engines from the Kendal and Staveley were called to rescue a woman from the river on Beezon Road in Kendal.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews found a woman under a bridge in the river.
“Firefighters used specialist equipment for working at height and a nine-metre ladder to rescue the woman, who was treated by paramedics at the scene.
“Crews were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes.”
