A 58-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in hospital.
Detective Inspector Dave Meeney, of GMP’s Major Incident team, said: “Maragret’s family are being supported by specially trained officers as they come to terms with the loss of their mum, sister and friend.
“Our investigation into how she lost her life continues and we will do all we can to give Margaret’s family the answers to the questions they have at this difficult time.
“It’s vital that we hear from people in the local area who saw anything that stood out from the ordinary, as it could help us to piece together how this tragic incident happened.”
