[H]igginsons Butchers of Grange-over-Sands features in The Lakes and Cumbria Cook Book which celebrates some of the region’s best independent restaurants, cafés, local suppliers and producers.

Set for release on 20th April, The Lakes and Cumbria Cook Book features over 30 recipes and strives to encapsulate the region’s vibrant food and drink scene.

From Cumberland Sausage to Bramley apple pies, this book will cater to everyone’s tastes. It has never been easier to create delicious, high-quality dishes in the comfort of your own home, as all of the recipes featured are achievable for home cooks.

Higginsons has a chapter in the book showcasing the secrets behind their success and they have also included their favourite family recipe for Cumberland Sausage.

Owner of the multi-award winning Cumbrian family business, Stuart Higginson said “The Lakes & Cumbria Cook Book gives a lovely flavour of some of our region’s finest produce and of course it’s nice for our customers to try cooking some of dishes that they’ve tasted in local restaurants. Our Cumberland Sausage recipe is a great family favourite and is it’s not difficult to cook.”

Within the book, you may also recognise a few familiar faces such as Simon Rogan, from two Michelin-starred restaurant, L’Enclume, and Kevin Tickle from Michelin-starred restaurant, Forest Side, who have both provided a foreword.

Simon Rogan says: “Cartmel has been my home for over 15 years and I am very proud to be celebrating the amazing food & drink on our doorstep. It’s great that the Lakes and Cumbria Cook Book celebrates the Lake District and it’s so good to see so many local businesses recognised for their excellence”.

Amongst the wonderful contributors are Hawkshead Relish, The Old Stamp House and The Porterage; an independent wine merchant, whose experts have carefully selected a tipple to complement the majority of recipes inside the book.
