[T]he owner of an 8-year-old Labradoodle which bit a woman on her leg has appeared before magistrates in Carlisle,
The court was told how the Ladraddole called ‘Tula’ had been let out of a car parked in Warcop, and ran towards the victim in a “very aggressive manner causing the victim to scream when her leg was bitten, the owner shouted at the dog and called her back, and it immediately ran back to Mrs Gowing as did the other two-dogs named Nina and Pie, also Labradoodle`s.
Mrs Carol Jane Gowing, 74, of The Square, Warcop pleaded guilty to a charge of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury in respect of ‘Tula’ she also pleaded guilty to having two dogs dangerously out of control in respect of Nina and Pie.
Gowing apologised for her lack of control on Thursday, February 24, and told the court her dogs are “not violent dogs, they play with her grandchildren”, but admits she should have had them on leads and that was her mistake.
Sentencing was adjourned until May 8; Mrs Gowing said she would obtain a report from her vets practice and some references about the dogs to hand to the court.
