[F]our men have been charged by Cumbria Police with serious acquisitive crime offences.
All four were arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning (26th April) in the Brampton area and subsequently charged with conspire to commit a burglary and going equipped for theft. Those charged are:
- Scott David Walpole, aged 28, of no fixed abode.
- Ashley George McAuley, aged 24, of Castlegate, Penrith.
- Dillon Broderick, aged 21, of Main Street, Ellenborough, Maryport.
- John James Thompson, aged 25, of Harriston, Aspatria, Wigton.
All four are scheduled to appear today (27th April) at North Cumbria Magistrates’ Court.
The arrests were made as part of an ongoing proactive operation by the Constabulary’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit which targets those who look to commit serious acquisitive crime offences, such as burglary.
