Firefighters tackle Whitehaven blaze

[A]t 4:48pm today, Wednesday 2 May firefighters from Whitehaven were called to reports of a fire in an outbuilding at an address on Mid Street, Whitehaven.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews attended the scene and found that the building was well alight.

“The team used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, before using a thermal imaging camera to ensure that the scene was safe.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately 30 minutes.”
