[A] teenager has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for three counts of sexual assault committed against two children.
The boy, aged 17, was sentenced today (2nd May) at North Cumbria Magistrates’ Court.
He committed his offences whilst living in the Eden area in 2015 and 2016.
Detective Constable Bev Barnes, North Cumbria Public Protection Unit said: “I’d like to praise the bravery of the victims in this case. No child should ever be subjected to sexual assault and I hope that the conclusion of this case can bring the victims in this case some form of closure.
“The offender has shown no remorse for his actions.
“I hope that this case encourages victims of an age to report what is happening to them. Victims will be believed and will receive support from sensitive professionals.”
