[T]he A686 has reopened after a road traffic collision occurred near The Loaning in Alston.
Police were called at 8:58pm.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 8:47pm two fire engines from Penrith and Alston attended a road traffic collision on the A686.
“It involved a single vehicle with a person trapped inside.
“Crews used cutting gear to release the casualty, who was passed to the care of paramedics.
“They were in attendance was about an hour.”
The A686 was closed in both directions but has now reopened.
