A66 reopen after serious collision near Penrith

The A66 has reopened after a serious road traffic collision occurred west of Penrith.

Police were called at 5:56pm.

A motorcyclist collided with a tree.

The A66 was closed westbound between the M6 J40 and the B5288.

The road has now reopened.
