[S]UPER science sessions are on offer at The Beacon Museum, Whitehaven, this half-term.
The museum’s visitor hosts are proving they’re not just full of hot air by donning their lab coats and safety goggles for a series of wind-powered science sessions.
The museum has put science at the heart of its ongoing programme, and visitors of all ages will be able to discover how gases move and impact the world around us through fun simple experiments.
Alan Irwin, Business Development Manager at The Beacon Museum, said: “Some of our silly scientists are raring to go. They have been busy preparing their experiments and anything might happen, but it will be fun no matter what.”
The science sessions are on offer at scheduled times throughout the day between May 26 and June 3 at a cost of £1.50 per person.
A range of interactive science exhibits are also available in the Sellafield Story exhibition, and the ongoing link with Sellafield Ltd continues to promote the arts and heritage as a means of understanding science, technology and mechanics.
The museum is also collaborating with Cumbria County Council to offer local families free learning sessions during the half-term break. Those who complete the course will receive an education certificate as well as free family entry into the upcoming Brick Dinos exhibition.
Entry to the museum is free, until June 8, for all Copeland residents who sign up for a Copeland Pass. Residents can sign up for the free pass at The Beacon Museum, adults must bring photo identification.
