Biker killed in A66 crash near Penrith

A man has died after road traffic collision occurred on the A66 near Penrith.

At 5:40pm on Wednesday 16 May a black Yamaha motorcycle, ridden by a 53-year-old man from the Keswick area collided with a tree at Dacre.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“No other vehicles were believed to have been involved.

“The road was closed for four hours while collision investigations examined the scene.”

Any witnesses are asked to contact PC1724 Humphreys at the Mobile Support Group on 101 quoting log 201 of 16 May.
