[A] MAN from Shap must sign the sex offenders’ register after he admitted downloading hundreds of indecent images of children.
Graham Plant, 57, entered guilty pleas to five offences when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today (TUES).
Plant, of West Close, admitted making 74 indecent photographs of children classed in category A – the most serious; along with 60 category B illegal images of youngsters; and 778 prohibited category C photographs.
He further admitted two counts of possessing an extreme pornographic image – one of which is said to feature an animal.
All of the crimes were committed during a period between August, 2008, and October of 2015.
Judge James Adkin adjourned the case. “I need a report from the probation service looking at your background and why you engaged in this behaviour,” said Judge Adkin.
“Simply because I am adjourning for reports, please don’t think I have decided what the sentence will be. I have not. All options are open.”
Plant is set to be sentenced on June 12, and was granted bail in the meantime. He was told he must sign the sex offenders’ register with immediate effect.
