New leadership for Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire

[S]tagecoach has announced new Director appointments to help deliver a business change programme within its UK Bus Division.

The innovative new programme is designed to ensure Stagecoach is fit for the future across all parts of its UK Bus business and includes aspects relating to people, customers, commercial, safety and technology.

Stagecoach UK Bus Managing Director for England and Wales, Mark Threapleton, said: “We are embarking on an exciting and innovative new programme within our UK Bus division to make sure we are fully equipped to take advantage of the opportunities that may present themselves in the future and to continue delivering the best possible services for our customers.

As a result, Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire Managing Director Matthew Cranwell will become Managing Director for Stagecoach East Midlands, effective from July.

Stagecoach North Scotland Managing Director Mark Whitelocks, will take on the role of Managing Director, Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire from mid June.

Matt Cranwell said “I have really enjoyed my time in Cumbria and North Lancashire, working with a great team of people that has had to contend with some immensely challenging circumstances, such as the impact of Storm Desmond in December 2015. I wish my colleagues all the best for the future and I congratulate Mark on his new appointment that I know he will enjoy just as much as I have done for the past three years”

Mark Whitelocks joined Stagecoach through the company’s Graduate Development Programme and has previously held managerial positions at Stagecoach West and Stagecoach South West. In September 2013 he took on the role of Operations Director at Stagecoach East Scotland before being appointed Managing Director, Stagecoach North Scotland in 2016.

Mark Whitelocks said: “I am looking forward to joining the team and carrying on with the good work that Matt and the team has already done.  I am looking forward to further improving the services that we offer by working closely with our customers and stakeholders and using new technology where we can.”
