2018 marks the 20th anniversary of Majik House. Opened in 1998 they were one of the very first smart home technology companies in the UK.
To celebrate this milestone the team at Majik House decided they wanted to give something back to the local community that they have called home for the past 20 years.
“We wanted to do something which was unique and could help raise as much money as possible for our chosen charities,” said Events & Marketing Manager Sally Proctor.
The lucky winner of the charity auction will receive A Dolby Atmos Certified dedicated Home Cinema System which includes the following:
- Lighting and lighting control from Rako,
- Surround sound speaker system including Monitor Audio in ceiling speakers,
- Yamaha subwoofer
- Velodyne amp.
- The system will also include a state of the art projector
- All controlled via a Control4 operating system.
Majik House will provide a bespoke design service plus its expert engineers and programmers to install the system.
Majik House approached their suppliers to source the products needed for the cinema and were blown away by their willingness to give to this worthwhile event. The current market price of this home cinema would be £12,000. Director Carol Burrow said “we would love to receive an offer close to the cinema value, every penny we can give to the charities would be fantastic!”
The total amount raised from the auction will go directly to the Cumbria Community Foundation who are working closely with Majik House to make sure the money goes straight to those in the local area who need it most. “We collectively as a team decided where we would like the money to go, the charities we have chosen mean something to everyone here”, commented Sally.
The team have chosen to give the money to 2 local charities, the first based in Barrow and helps local people dealing with Alcohol and drug related issues, the second is Kendal food bank who are doing incredible work in the local area coping with the ever increasing demand for their services.
