Woman flown to hospital after A595 Kirkby-in-Furness crash

[A] woman has been flown to hospital after her car overturned on the A595 at Kirkby-in-Furness.

Cumbria Police were called at 5:19pm today (2nd June) to the report of a one vehicle collision, which occurred in the centre of Kirkby-in-Furness.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “The female driver has been flown to the Royal Preston Hospital. Her family are aware.

“The A595 in Kirkby in Furness town centre is closed, and will remain closed for the foreseeable future whilst emergency services attend the scene and the vehicle is recovered.

“Diversions are in place, but motorists are advised to avoid the area.”
