[T]he Portable Antiquities Scheme exists to promote the recording of archaeological objects over 300 years old. It deals with metal, stone, pottery and fabric and no find is too small.
Whether you are a metal-detectorist, gardener, builder or dog-walker, if you have found an object that you are curious about, bring it along to the Finds Day at Penrith and Eden Museum.
You can have it identified and potentially recorded by Finds Liaison Officer, Lydia Prosser.
The Museum Curator will also be able to advise on other portable artefacts.
