[L]ocal charities and voluntary groups in the South Lakes area are advised to book their places on a “not to be missed” FREE event in June that is being coordinated and managed by Cumbria CVS.
The South Funding Event will take place on Thursday 21 June 2018 at the new Kendal Rugby Club, 10am – 3pm and will provide an opportunity for representatives of local voluntary and community groups to meet local, regional and national funders face to face to discuss their funding needs and to receive valuable advice and support in relation to these.
Large national funders including the Big Lottery Fund, the Heritage Lottery Fund, BBC Children in Need and the Arts Council will be in attendance, along with more familiar local funders such as the Hadfield Trust, Cumbria Community Foundation, Francis C Scott Trust, the Frieda Scott Trust and representatives from the local district and county councils.
This event is one of an annual round of 5 funding events coordinated by Cumbria CVS. Last year (2017-18), over 383 people received advice, support and information through these events; and we anticipate similar figures this year. Evaluations of these events highlight their success with over 90% of attendees feeling more confident after attending one of these events.
These funders look forward to meeting local groups and learning more about potential projects that they can help support through funding. The day also provides a great opportunity for the groups to access support from other organisations who will also be in attendance including organisers Cumbria CVS, who will be offering funding advice, payroll and accountancy services and support in relation to further developing their organisations through good governance.
Booking for the event is essential and groups can choose to attend either the morning (10am – 12noon) or the afternoon session (1-3pm).
Bookings are now being taken by Cumbria CVS – to secure your place email [email protected], call 01768 800350, or visit www.cumbriacvs.org.uk
The next event will be in Whitehaven on 12 July 2018.
