Police searching for missing teenager find body

[P]olice searching for a missing man have found a body.

Shortly before 2:50pm on Tuesday 5 June 2018, police were called to Whitworth Street West in Manchester City Centre to reports that a body had been found in a canal.

Officers attended and found the body of a man.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed that this is the body of 19-year-old Orlando Nyero.

Orlando was reported missing just after 10:50am on Sunday 3 June 2018. The last confirmed sighting of him was just after 3:35am earlier that morning, leaving the Jurys Inn Hotel on Great Bridgewater Street in Manchester City Centre.

Orlando had been for a night out with his brother and two friends before going back to the hotel. He left a short time later and had not been seen since.

There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

His family are being provided with support from officers at this time.
