[A] MAN who bit his partner’s nose during an attack inside her Penrith home has been jailed for 10 months.
Paul Scott Harvey Elliman, 25, sank his teeth into his now ex-girlfriend Amy Moorhead’s face, leaving her bloodied, after turning violent during an incident on April 18.
Elliman admitted assaulting Miss Moorhead, causing her actual bodily harm, and was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court today (THURS). He was said to have accepted he acted in a “fit of anger” as the pair argued.
Miss Moorhead escaped serious injury and described feeling “petrified” of Elliman, previously of Warwick Road in Carlisle, but now of no fixed address. However, the court heard she did not support the imposition of a restraining order prohibiting him from contacting her.
Jailing Elliman, Judge James Adkin said he would recommend that the defendant be barred from contacting his ex-partner as a condition of his licence upon release from custody.
