Man arrested in Workington robbery probe

[P]olice have confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred at a Workington supermarket.

A 20-year-old man from Workington has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He is in custody for questioning.

The arrest is in connection with an incident that occurred at Asda, Dunmail Park, on Saturday 9th June at approximately 7.30pm. A male offender assaulted a security guard who had attempted to stop him from stealing £30 worth of goods.

Police would like to thank those who shared the CCTV appeal issued earlier today.
