Three arrested after man stabbed in Carlisle

[P]olice in Carlisle are investigating an incident where a 33-year-old man was stabbed.

Police were called at 6.39pm yesterday (17th June) with a report of the incident on Stonegarth.

The victim, from Carlisle, was taken to Cumberland Infirmary with serious injuries. The injuries are not life-threatening.

Police have arrested three people on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. They are a 40-year-old woman, a 35-year-old woman and a 34-year-old male all from Carlisle. They are currently detained for questioning.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
