[A] new community art trail called ‘Meanders’ is running from 23rd June to 1st July 2018 in the town of Cockermouth.
Bringing together retail therapy and general leisure, and encouraging visitors to the town, artwork will be shown in more than twenty different shop windows by more than twenty different artists from the EVAN West artistic group.
A town trail leaflet has been produced which is available from Tourist Information Centres and the Kirkgate.
In addition on the weekend of 30th June and 1st July workshops will be running at the Kirkgate where adults can try their hand at either making beaded jewellery or up cycling clothes. There are also Creature Cushion toy making sessions for children and applique and hand-stitch workshops for adults.
Designer and stylist Maggi Toner-Edgar said ‘The idea is to include retailers and townspeople as much as possible and it’s great that the Meanders trail will run from the Woolfest weekend to the Cockermouth Live weekend inclusive. We hope to generate as much interest as possible. So remember the date!’
