[F]ollowing an incident where a 33-year-old man was stabbed, two further arrests have been made and three people have been released on bail as police investigations continue.
Police were called at 6:39pm on the 17th June to the incident on Stonegarth.
The victim, from Carlisle, was taken to Cumberland Infirmary with serious injuries. He has since been released.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A man and women, both in their early 20’s and from Carlisle, have been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. They are currently detained for questioning.
“A 40-year-old woman, a 35-year-old woman and a 34-year-old male all from Carlisle have been bailed until the 13th July.
“Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.”
