[T]his week a group of level one joinery students from Lakes College presented benches they have designed and created to representatives from Workington Cricket Club. This project was part of their work experience.
John Burns (Workington Cricket Club’s president) and June Walker (the club’s bar manager and committee member) visited the students to pass on their gratitude. John stated “the benches have exceeded my expectations and I am therefore more than grateful to accept the benches on behalf of Workington cricket club. I would like to say a massive thank you to all the students and staff involved”.
Adam Tyson, Joinery lecturer at Lakes College who has supervised and helped the students during their work experience commented “the students have gathered a lot of relevant skills throughout their work experience and I am proud of the benches they have created for Workington Cricket Club”.
Excellent work from all involved helping a local club.
