[P]olice are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Northumberland yesterday.
At around 12.47pm on Monday, June 25, officers received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a lorry and a motorcycle on Rivermead in Kielder.
Emergency services attended the scene where sadly the passenger of the motorcycle, a 63-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the motorcycle, a 64-year-old man, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. His condition is described as critical but stable.
Inquiries are ongoing as officers investigate the circumstances of the collision.
The road was closed for six hours to facilitate a thorough forensic collision investigation and recovery of the vehicles.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have any information that could assist their investigation, particularly those that might have dash cam footage of the moments leading up to the collision.
