Firefighters tackle Kendal blaze

[A]t 8:44am today, Thursday 28 June firefighters from Kendal, Windermere and Barrow attended reports of a building fire on Shap Road in Kendal.

The fire involved the roof of a two storey commercial premises which was well alight.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The team used a 9 metre ladder, hose reel jets, a thermal imaging camera and electronic cutting equipment to extinguish the fire.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately two hours.”
