[A] court has heard how a Carlisle man breached a restraining order issued by Carlisle Magistrates Court on May 14 of this year, in that he must not attended Trinity Buildings off Wigton Road.
Matthew Brian Dodds, 20, of Brookside, Raffles appeared from police custody at Carlisle Magistrates Court.
District Judge Gerald Chalk was told how police were notified by a neighbour of Trinity Buildings that he was in the vicinity, police attended and Dodds was arrested for breaching the restraining order on both June 28 and again on July 1.
Lawyer Ian Hudson explained to the court how a neighbour has a large number of CCTV cameras on her property and she had contacted the police after Dodds was allegedly seen having a smoke near a relatives house, the neighbour was allegedly said to have told him to “get off my street”.
Dodds has mental health issues and has not been taking his medication recently, he is under a lot of stress at the moment, a representative from the Probation Service explained that Dodds was getting upset during their interview and felt under pressure, he walked out of the interview the judge was told.
Dodds pleaded guilty to the charges and the judge imposed a Community Order of one-year, which includes a ten-week electronically tagged home curfew between 8pm until 6am and a 20-day rehabilitation course, he has to pay compensation of £100 to the officer and £85 in prosecution costs.
