[A] CARLISLE man who harassed his ex-girlfriend has been sentenced by a judge.
The city’s crown court heard how Jamie Blair threatened to “ruin” his former partner’s life, and also caused her “disruption and embarrassment”, during a period of offending spanning seven months.
Blair, 30, even made contact through a third party when she blocked his calls.
Earlier today (MON) he admitted harassment of the woman, between July last year and February, and was given an 18-month conditional discharge.
It was said in defence of Blair, of Orton Road, Carlisle, that he hadn’t meant to threaten his victim, nor cause her harm, and wouldn’t get in touch with her in future.
Recorder Kevin Grice also imposed a retraining order. This prohibits Blair from making any contact or approaching her and specified other people – and attending designated locations – for five years.
Of the harassment, Recorder Grice told Blair: “What you did was annoying, it was upsetting and she didn’t want it.”
