[T]he Chief Executive‘s office at Penrith Town Hall has a new face in the hot seat today (Monday 2 July 2018) as Rose Rouse starts as Eden District Council’s new CEO.
Rose, said: “It was great to walk into the Town Hall in Penrith this morning and start my new job and be welcomed and supported by friendly and enthusiastic Members and officers. I am very keen to get to grips with the challenges and opportunities facing the District such as delivering a more diverse range of housing to meet local needs and develop a higher wage economy.
“After previously living and working in Eden, I recognise the area has determined and vibrant communities who the Council’s Members and Officers can work more closely with to continue to make a positive difference for local people.
“I am looking forward in the coming weeks and months to getting out and about in the District to meet communities and businesses so I can understand more about their needs and aspirations first hand. This is an exciting time to join the Council as we look to develop new corporate priorities to deliver over the next five years and shape a strategy with local communities for the future of the District until 2050.”
Rose Rouse joins Eden District Council from Worcester City Council, where she was a Corporate Director for the past two years, leading a transformation programme to deliver customer improvements, develop the Council’s commercial offer and new ways of working. During the past 10 years Rose has held senior positions in local government with councils in Yorkshire and Humberside.
