[M]embers of the public are invited to attend a coffee morning in Longtown where they can speak with local PCSOs about any concerns or issues they may have.
The event will be held at Longtown Community Centre on Monday 9th July between 10am and midday.
PCSO Laura Woods, who is organising the event, will be joined by the Cumbria Police & Crime Commissioner Peter McCall.
PCSO Laura Woods, Cumbria Constabulary, said: “This is a great opportunity for those living or working in the Longtown and surrounding area to meet members of their local policing team.
“If you have any concerns or any issues that you’d like to raise I’d urge you to attend so we can talk about them and see if there is something we can do to help. Alternatively if you fancy a chat over coffee and biscuits with us please pop in.
“A great deal of work has been conducted in the Longtown area to improve the quality of life for the public and tackle issues that matter to them, such as antisocial behaviour. This event is a continuation of work to build closer links with the community. By doing so, we can continue to keep the people of Longtown safe from crime and antisocial behaviour.”
Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner Peter McCall said: “I am delighted to be joining Laura in Longtown for her coffee morning, and I am more than happy to listen to people if they wish to raise any issues with me, or just have a chat. I believe that events like this are really valuable and give local residents a chance to have their say about any issues they are experiencing locally. Coupled with that is the opportunity for people to enjoy a social event and help to build and strengthen relationships in the area. I am a great believer in ‘we – not they’, and this is a great example of us all working together to keep our communities safe.”
