[A]s part of Give a Day to the city, Carlisle’s Youth Zone has had its front yard transformed. The makeover, which was overseen by local law firm Baines Wilson, has seen an army of volunteers turn the yard into a vibrant and colourful space.
37 volunteers worked on the makeover with support coming from a host of local businesses including Barclays, The Cumberland, Dodd & Co. BSW Timber, Kingmoor Park Properties Ltd, Elton Finance, Carlisle Police, Tesco Carlisle, Dalston Aggregates, Brian Hetherington Ltd, Liberty Work and Leisure and Aero Nurseries. The transformation took around 35 hours.
Sean Logue from Baines Wilson said: “It is fantastic to see a business community come together in this way to support Carlisle’s Youth Zone. We are enormously grateful to all those that provided material donations and of course all those volunteers that painted, planted and built!”
Matt Williams from Carlisle Youth Zone said: “We absolutely love the transformation and are extremely happy with the work achieved by an awesome bunch of volunteers. Our yard is now a bright and creative hub for our young people to use and enjoy. We can’t wait to for them to start using it!”
