Firefighters tackle Millom grass fire

At 1.25pm today, Tuesday 10 July firefighters were called to a grass fire at Monk Moors, Eskmeals, Millom.

On arrival crews discovered that the fire was affecting an area measuring approximately 40 square metres.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Spokesman said: “Firefighters used two hose reel jets and two beaters to put out the fire.

“They then damped the area down to make sure it was safe.

“Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour-and-a-half.”
