[A] MAN has admitted wounding another male in the Lake District – and been told by a judge he could receive a prison sentence.
Ellis Andrew Stephens, 21, admitted one offence when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court. He pleaded guilty to unlawfully wounding Jimmy O’Neill.
The charge arises out of an incident at an address in Ambleside on March 8 after which Mr O’Neill is said to have required 18 stitches to facial “lacerations”.
Stephens, of High Greenbank, Ambleside, had his case adjourned by Recorder Julie Clemitson, who ordered the preparation of background information.
She granted unconditional bail to Stephens – a man of previous good character – who was told he is due to receive his sentence at the crown court on September 6.
But Recorder Clemitson said to the defendant: “At the moment you must consider that all options are open – including custody.”
