[O]n 22nd July you will be able to take a trip back in time and discover how Victorian tourists enjoyed at day out amongst the ruins of Furness Abbey.
Brought to you by Iron Shepherds Living History there will be a variety of traditional toys and games to play with, performances from the Furness Clog Dancers and the Furness Nightingales alongside entry to our Pavilion of Wonderment.
There will also be tours of the site during the day at 12.30pm and 3pm, refreshments from Abbey Mill Coffee Shop and much merriment.
In the Victorian period a trip to the historical site of Furness Abbey was a must for any trip to the Lake District.
With this event we aim to give the modern visitor a taste of a truly Victorian day out amongst the ruins, similar to how our ancestors once enjoyed the site.
Bring a picnic and all the family to enjoy a historic day out!
