[A]t 10:32pm yesterday, Tuesday 10 July firefighters were called to a grass and gorse fire behind the rugby club on Salterbeck Road, Workington.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Approximately 100 square metres of grass and gorse were on fire and crews used two main jets and a hose reel jet to put out the fire.”
At 7:47pm yesterday firefighters were called to Cummersdale Road, Carlisle, to a grass fire.
“Crews found 50 square metres of grass and bush on fire on arrival and crews used beaters and fire extinguisher to put out the flames.”
At 7:19pm yesterday firefighters were called to a fire in a field in Southwaite.
“A 13 acre field was well alight on arrival and crews used two main jets, four hose reel jets, beaters and farmers equipment to put out the fire.”
At 8:07am today firefighters were called to Kirby Moor, Broughton-in-Furness, to a gorse fire.
“Crews found approximately 20 square metres of gorse on fire and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.”
