Police appeal after handbag thefts at Aldi stores in Carlisle and Penrith

Police want to speak to this man

Police investigating the theft of handbags in Carlisle and Penrith have released CCTV footage.

Both incidents occurred on Friday 22nd June at Aldi supermarkets.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “At approximately 1.40pm at the Aldi store on Kingstown Road, Carlisle, a handbag was stolen from the back of a trolley. Later that day, at approximately 2.45pm, a handbag was stolen from a trolley at the Aldi store in Penrith.

“Police would like to speak to the male pictured in CCTV footage in connection with both incidents.”
