[T]he annual CCG assessment by NHS England has rated NHS North Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) as Good. The rating was confirmed this week and NHS England praised the CCG for the progress it has made in:
- Supporting the development of the North Cumbria Health and Care System
- The development of partnership governance
- The progress in service improvement and the development of eight integrated care communities
- People with diabetes diagnosed less than a year who attend a structured education course.
It acknowledges challenges faced by the CCG including:
- Need to further strengthen financial plans
- Demonstrate more pace in service change
Dr David Rogers, the CCG’s medical director and accountable officer, said: “I am very proud of our team, it is their hard work which has helped improve our rating over the last 12 months. We know we continue to face many challenges and will work to continue the process of integrating our NHS teams across north Cumbria. There is no doubt we are in a much better place than we were three years ago.” The NHS England annual assessment information is available on their website at: https://www.england.nhs.uk/commissioning/regulation/ccg-assess/iaf/
