Esme will be running in the senior girls 3,000 m race and Harry in the Inter Boys discus competition.
QEGS students in Year 10 also competed for Cumbria at the recent North Schools Championship round at Gateshead. Sam Almond came 1st in the 400m, Clara Davies 3rd in Long Jump, and Harry Chambers 4th in the Long Jump.
Headteacher, Mr Paul Buckland, said: “QEGS has some very talented athletes and our coaching staff help them develop their skills to bring out their very best. Esme and Harry have worked hard to qualify for the Cumbria county team and we are very proud of their success. We wish the whole team the best of luck.”
