Warning after man attempts to lure boy into car in Flookburgh

[C]umbria Police is investigating a report received this morning (13 July) of a man in a car acting suspiciously near to the school in Flookburgh.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “It has been reported that the driver pulled up in a black or dark-coloured car alongside a child. The man, did not get out of the car or touch the child but spoke to him.

“The boy did not know the man so did the right thing and ran to school.

“Officers are investigating this incident and would advise parents to ensure their children are aware of plans around school pick-ups and drop-offs such as who is picking them up and at what time and to ensure their children know never to enter a stranger’s car.”

The man is described as wearing a black cap and brown sunglasses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cumbria Police on 101.
