Police probe Carlisle hay bale fire

[P]olice are investigating after firefighters were called to a hay bale fire in Carlisle.

At 11:48pm on Wednesday 18 July firefighters were called to a fire on Burgh Road.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews used a hose reel jet and a drag rake to put out the hay bale fire.

“The fire had been started deliberately.”
