Workington Reds Ladies looking forward to upcoming season

[A]fter a very positive start to pre-season training Workington Reds Ladies FC will be kicking off their pre-season fixtures with a trip to Morecambe this Sunday to compete in their annual 7 a side tournament.

The Ladies will be using this tournament to have a good run out after they have put in a lot of hard work both on and off the pitch. They have so far had a group personal training session at Xtreme fitness and a Futsal session at Lakes college on top of their usual training sessions. These extra sessions have helped the ladies increase their fitness and ball skills and this is showing on the training pitch.

Manager Brian said: “The Ladies have returned to training with a new found life and energy about them and they are looking really sharp and fit ahead of the season. We have a packed fixture list before the season starts so they will all have plenty of opportunities to transfer their sharpness and skills from the training pitch into matches. I’m really looking forward to this season starting and it can’t come quick enough as I fully expect the Ladies to keep on progressing and have another successful season.”

If anyone would like to join the Ladies this season then please get in touch with them via their social media outlets @Workingtonlfc or contact Brian on 07703019285.

The Ladies Pre-season fixtures are:

  • 22nd July – Morecambe 7 a side tournament
  • 29th July – Away to NLDDC
  • 5th August – Home to Burnely Belvedere LFC
  • 12th August – Home to Cramlington United LFC
  • 19th August – 3 team Tournament at Accrington LFC along with Curzon Ashton LFC

All support, as usual, is much appreciated and the Ladies look forward to seeing you there to cheer them on.
