Firefighters tackle Carlisle roof fire

[A]t 7:39pm yesterday, Monday 23 July firefighters were called to a fire in the roof of a property on New House Farm Road, Newby West.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Spokesman said: “The fire was in the roof timbers and joists and crews used a thermal imaging camera, the aerial ladder platform and a hose reel jet to put out the fire.

“Crews were at the scene for an hour and 35 minutes.”
