[O]n Thursday 16 August 2018, Shaddongate Community Resouce Centre is opening its doors to the general public and local organsiations as part of their first ever Big Advice Day.
Follwing its successful Open Day last year which marked the re-opening of the building after the 2015 floods, Cumbria CVS is now keen to encourage people to pop in and take advantage of the advice and support that they offer as part of the Big Advice Day.
The Big Advice Day will run from 10am – 3pm and Cumbria CVS would like to invite anyone interested in finding out more about the building and/or Cumbria CVS to come along.
They hope that local community groups, not for profit organisations, members and the general public will drop by and take a look around their fully accessable, state of the art Community Resource Centre; find out more about the services they offer including community space for hire, office space to rent, accounting services, volunteering, funding advice and support, training, along with the chance to take advantage of a number of FREE workshops.
Steve Golding, Venue and Resources Officer said: “Our first ever Big Advice Day is a great opportunity for us to show the local community what Cumbria CVS and the Shaddongate Community Resouce Centre has to offer. Whether you are a local community group looking for a venue or a business in need of office space, a charity in need of funding advice or you are interested in volunteering, all are welcome to come along and see us.”
The workshops will run throughout the day and include accessing funding for your organisation, how to use social media effectively, working with volunteers and how to become a volunteer. Although the event is open for people to drop in at any point during the day, booking for the workshops is essential.
