[A]t 10:31am today, Wednesday 1 August firefighters were called to the A595 in Wigton after a trailer containing six cows overturned.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Once a vet had checked over the animals, firefighters used special cutting equipment to free the cows from the trailer.
“The cows were then escorted into pens approximately 100 metres down the road.
“Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour-and-a-half.”
